This program is now fairly complicated and bugs will be detected. If you promptly report any bug you find, then I will promptly create a fix for the problem. Some of the bugs that come up are places where I am unable to test, such as using the program in non-US markets. Please give as much detail when you report a bug.
Starting with the release of version 1.18a, I will be answering bug reports and questions in the e-minitraders forum at http://www.e-minitraders.com/CCIBoard/viewforum.php?f=17. This will assure the information is shared with a wider audience. Please continue to email me your questions and bug reports, I will post most replies to this forum, so if you do not receive any reponse from me, check the forum for answers to your questions. Those who made donations will continue to receive direct email reply to their questions.
If you run into any problems with the software, first make sure you read the FAQ, Release Notes and Documentation first. If you still cannot resolve your problem, then send me an email. You may also go to the IB TWS API message board and post a question there. Other users might be able to help you answer your questions.
Starting with version 1.12, the AutoTrader program comes with an option to turn on DEBUG message logging. If you think you encountered a bug, you may want to turn on DEBUG messages, use the AutoTrader program until you reproduce the bug, then send me the log file together with a description of the bug by email. The log information will help me troubleshoot the problem faster. Make sure to use WinZip to compress the file before attaching it to the email.
To turn on DEBUG message logging, select the menu File/Debug Msg to Log. Additional debug messages will be written to the log file. Make sure you only turn on debug mode only if you want to report a problem, do not leave debug mode on for a long time as it will log a lot of messages to the log file.
