Features
- Program is free. Donations
are welcome and highly appreciated. If I change my policy later on to make
payment mandatory, anyone who already made a contribution will automatically
continue to recieve free updates to show my appreciation of your voluntary
support.
- Everything you need is
in the one file you download, no installation hassle, no missing dll files,
no missing OCX files, no .NET stuff, no cleaning up of Windows registry, etc.
You don't even need to install the TWS API client software. All the files
used by the program are created in the same directory where the program is
located.
- Tested to run on Windows,
Solaris and Linux (see screenshots).
- Trading Simulation. You
can simulate trade during trading hours using live market data, and during
off hours using collected market data (another new innovation that you find
first in AutoTrader). So now you don't have to deal with the IB demo system.
- TWS Server proxy in Simulation
playback mode. You now have the option to make AutoTrader work as a TWS API
server when you playback your collected data. You can then start your Quotetracker
or SierraChart charting
software, and it will connect to AutoTrader and start receiving the tick data.
The client programs would not even know the difference that they are connected
to AutoTrader and not TWS. Practice your strategy and trades in the ultimate
simulation package available using IB TWS.
- Collected data is stored
to a zip compressed format file on the fly and is also read directly from
the zip file during playback. This feature will save you lots of disk space
if you collect data everyday.
- Section Panels docks
and floats to separate windows. This allows you to leave only important panels
open to use your screen space more efficiently.
- Uses TWS client API version
7.0.1. The program now displays Account information, Trade Executions, Open
Orders (only orders originated from AutoTrader will display), and Positions
are now displayed.
- Displays market depth
information graphically. User has option to turn off market depth data display.
- Supports display of prices
in fraction. Useful for Bond traders. Internal prices are stored to five decimal
places to support prices down to 1/32.
- Open position timer.
Lets you know how long your position has been open.
- Mouse Wheel Support.
AutoTrader is the first program to introduce this feature. Most of the entry
box values can be modified by moving the mouse pointer inside the box, and
turning the mouse wheel up or down. Turn up will increase the value, turn
down will decrease the value. Only when you move out the mouse pointer from
the box will the new value be applied.
- Four ways to enter your
data, use the mouse wheel, right click and select from a popup list selection,
type in your entry using the keyboard and hit TAB, and middle click your mouse
and use the KeyPad.
- Ability to add to existing
position in the same direction (buy for long position, sell for short position).
- Classic Order Entry panel
supports Limit, Stop, Stop Limit and Market orders with OCA.
- Breakout Entry allows
you to enter a stop buy and stop sell OCA order pair by specifying the buy
and sell price.
- Works with Futures, Stocks
and Options.
- Supported Futures exchanges:ACE,
DTB, GLOBEX, HKFE, IDEM, LIFFE, MONEP, NYMEX, SNFE, SOFFEX.
- Supported Stock and Options
exchanges: SMART, EBS, IBIS, IDEM, LSE, VIRTX.
- US stocks and options
use SMART order routing and hence are not subject to the order
modification fee IB charges for using direct exchange orders.
- Partial fills for Position
Entry are protected. If the price goes against you up to your stop offset
amount, then the partial filled quantity is closed and the rest of the order
is cancelled. You might think at first that you are getting a better fill,
but you might actually be catching a falling knife without this feature.
- SmartTrack order tracking
on markets where bid/ask spread is more than one tick.
- Uses log4j for logging
messages to display and to file. Also allows logging debug information to
file for additional information that you can send me when you want to report
a bug.
